A Message from the Club President

As the 39th President of the Rotary Club of Smyrna I am honored to serve and be associated with such outstanding business and community leaders.  Since our charter on March 22, 1971, we have always strived to make our community the best place to live with a strong commitment to SERVICE ABOVE SELF.

The theme for this year from our Rotary International President, D.K. Lee, is: Make Dreams Real.  We hope to share many things this year:  time, money, membership, efforts and talents both on a local and international level.  Our District 6760 Governor is Larry Boyd from Franklin, Tennessee.  They both have goals that they would like for us to accomplish and I will share them with you now.

• We will strive to end the 2007-2008 year with 105 members and have 85% attendance at our club meetings.
• We will strive to donate $100.00 from every Smyrna Rotarian for every year to the Rotary Foundation and name new Paul Harris Fellows.
• We will strive to update our Club Constitution and By-Laws and participate in the Club Leadership Plan.  This plan calls for a new committee, the Public Relations Committee.  Under this committee we will develop a club website, promote our P.R. video, place signage about our Rotary Club at locations coming into our town, and increase community awareness of our club.
• Our biggest goal is to have another successful Wings of Freedom Fish Fry to help service our community and to help accomplish the goals set forth.
